New Service Offered!

Syracuse University is pleased to announce a new service to our Students and Parents.

Students may now sign up to "share access."

This service will allow a student to create an account for a parent, spouse, or other designee.

A few of the current services a student may allow access to are: the student Bursar account, Financial Aid information, and student class schedules.

You may view your Student Tuition Account online

We are now providing by term, a statement that details your charges and credits and lets you know your current balance.

We hope that you find this enhancement very helpful and convenient.

You may access your account here by clicking on the "View Student Account" link under the Finances heading.

Important Notice :

Effective August 1, 2003:   VISA NO LONGER ACCEPTED

Due to a VISA USA change in rules and regulations, the SMARTPay VISA payment option will no longer be allowed.

The following credit cards are accepted:

  • Mastercard

  • Discover

  • American Express


Syracuse University is pleased to announce the following online payment options:


1. Credit Card and Debit Card Payments

  • Using a secure online website, you may use your debit or credit card to make a payment on your Bursar account.

  • Please note that you may use MasterCard, American Express or Discover credit cards, or debit cards with a MasterCard logo.

    ( Note : Effective August 1st, 2003, the SMARTPay VISA payment option will not be allowed. This is a result of a VISA USA change in rules and regulations.


  • This service is offered through a third party vendor, Informed Decisions CASHNet SMARTPAY system, who charges a service fee (2.15% for payments of $4,000 or more, and 2.9% for payments under $4,000) for each transaction.

  • Please note: Student account balances are not listed on payment website. Please refer to your bill for amount due. Online payments can take up to 2 business days to post to the student account. Please plan accordingly.

2. Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

  • Using a secure online website, you may authorize an electronic debit to your checking or savings account (U.S. accounts only).

  • To make a payment on your Bursar account simply provide the following information:

    • your bank account number
    • your bank ABA# (located on your check),
    • the payment amount, and
    • the date you would like the payment charged to your account.

  • This service is offered in conjunction with Sallie Mae’s Net.Pay system, and is available at no cost to you.

  • Your Bursar account will be charged a $20.00 fee for any
    transaction that is rejected due to insufficient funds


  • Please note: Student account balances are not listed on payment website. Please refer to your bill for amount due. Online payments can take up to 2 business days to post to the student account. Please plan accordingly.
