Battery Collection Program

The Battery Collection Program assists campus personnel with disposal of waste batteries in compliance with environmental regulations. Most waste batteries are classified as hazardous waste, regardless of size or shape. Therefore, they must be disposed of through the appropriate waste battery disposal procedure:

In the residential areas, Battery Collection Boxes have been placed at the main desk area in each dormitory, and at the RDSS Office at Goldstein Center. RDSS manages collection from these areas.
In all other areas of campus, Battery Collection Boxes have been placed in departmental offices to centralize collection. Call EHO for pickup of full Battery Collection Boxes from the non-residential areas, and to obtain additional boxes.
